What's new
October 10, 2026
- Gigsy is now Gigsworth. If you installed the app to your home screen, remove and re-add it to pick up the new name and icon.
October 1, 2026
- The dashboard now leads with your hourly rate, shows your mileage tax deduction on the Mileage card, and explains set-asides as paid vs. pending totals.
- You can collapse any section on the dashboard down to its title by tapping the title.
September 29, 2026
- Changing a gig's state now asks first when it would add or remove a state-based set-aside, and names the ones affected.
- Set aside your own percentages for taxes, tithe or savings, and see your goal progress as take-home.
- See all your income, expenses, player payments and mileage in one Transactions list, filter it by band tag, date or type, and export exactly that view.
- Exports now show when you were paid: the gigs and all-transactions CSVs include a paid_on date, and the PDF statement marks unpaid gigs and money still owed to players.
- You can now record which US state each gig was played in, and set a home state in Settings that fills it in automatically for new gigs.
- The dashboard now shows how much you're still owed by clients and how much you still owe your players, with a link to each.
- Changing a gig's date now moves its expenses, contractor payments and mileage with it, and expenses added to a past gig are dated with that gig instead of today.
- Gigsy no longer lets you log a gig with a future date, so your income goal only counts gigs you've actually played.
September 28, 2026
- You can now mark a gig as paid or unpaid, see which gigs you're still waiting to be paid for, filter your gigs by payment status, and see on your income goal how much of your income has actually arrived.
- You can now record a payment to another player as owed, mark it paid later, and set the date you actually paid them — the 1099 totals count only money paid in that calendar year.
September 17, 2026
- Bulk gig import can now carry each gig's expenses, the players you paid, and miles driven — so a backfilled year shows real net income and a real mileage deduction instead of gross alone.
September 16, 2026
- A contractor whose name contains %, _ or * is now matched literally, so quick-adding one can no longer attach a payment to a similarly-named person, and adding one is no longer blocked by a contractor that does not exist.
September 15, 2026
- Changelog entries that ran past one line are no longer cut off mid-sentence.
- You can now bulk-import gigs from a CSV — download the template or upload a spreadsheet you already keep, and check a preview of every gig that would be created before anything is saved.
- Typing a tag that already exists in a different case now attaches the existing tag instead of quietly creating a second one, so tag filters and exports no longer split a tag's gigs across two entries.
- CSV exports no longer let a gig name, category or note beginning with =, +, - or @ open as a live formula in Excel or Google Sheets.
September 14, 2026
- Gigsy's privacy policy now states accurately that a name and email address are both required to create an account.
- Gigsy now publishes a privacy policy and terms of service, linked from the footer of every public page.
September 11, 2026
- The dashboard income goal is now a thermometer that fills toward your goal, with gross and net income each explained in a line, and your hourly rate and hours worked promoted to headline figures.
- Your net income and goal progress no longer subtract the mileage deduction — mileage is now tracked separately as a tax figure.
- Added Auto, Supplies, Rehearsal & studio, Fees & commissions, and Dues & subscriptions as expense categories.
- The net hourly rate now says how many of your gigs it is based on, with a link to add hours to the ones that are missing them.
- The gigs list can now filter to gigs that are missing hours, and flags them in the list, so the dashboard's "add hours" link takes you straight to them.
- The feedback page now also lists an email address (feedback@gigsy.app) for anyone who'd rather not use the form.
September 10, 2026
- There's now a public changelog at /changelog showing what's changed in the app, no login required.
September 9, 2026
- Your name from signup now shows up in Settings and on exported statements instead of staying blank.
September 8, 2026
- Password fields now have a show/hide toggle, and signup asks you to confirm your password before creating your account.
- The email change confirmation message now clearly states you must click the link in both your old and new inbox before the change takes effect.
- Security fixes.
September 7, 2026
- Confirming an email change or accepting a beta invite now lands you back in the app instead of on an error page.
- Invited users now land on the page where they set their password, instead of an "Invalid confirmation link" error.
September 4, 2026

August 29, 2026
- The contractors page now explains when you need to file a 1099 for the players you pay, and links to the IRS forms you need to do it.
August 28, 2026
- Mobile browsers Chrome (on Android) and Safari (on iPhone) now show a hint for adding Gigsy to your home screen.
- Gigsy can now be installed to your phone's home screen for a full-screen, app-like launch.
- Change your password from Settings instead of signing out and using the forgot-password email flow.
- You can now set your full name, email, and timezone from a new Settings page -- and your dashboard goal progress, gig filters, and exports now roll over at midnight in your own timezone instead of the server's.
- Download a PDF income and expense statement for any date range — a summary of your income, expenses, contractor payments and mileage with every gig itemized, ready to email to an accountant.
- You can now send bug reports and feature requests to us from inside Gigsy, from the new Feedback link in the sidebar.
- You can now export your gigs, expenses, contractor payments, mileage, and a combined transaction ledger as CSV for any date range, ready to hand to a bookkeeper or CPA.

- The gigs list can now be filtered by tag and date range and sorted by date, income, or name, with the filtered totals shown above the list.
- The dashboard and gig detail views now both label the net hourly figure "Net hourly rate".
August 1, 2026
- The dashboard now shows how many hours you've worked this year.
July 31, 2026
- Pages now load quickly during a backend outage instead of hanging, failing fast rather than stalling every request.
July 24, 2026
- Login, sign-up, and password forms now show errors inline and keep what you typed instead of clearing the form, and never surface raw database messages.
- Adding or editing a contractor now shows errors inline and keeps what you typed, instead of clearing the form and showing a technical database message.
July 23, 2026
- Saving your income goal or adding/editing a standalone expense no longer wipes out what you typed if something goes wrong — the form now shows the error in place and keeps your entries.
July 18, 2026
- The hourly rate shown on a gig's detail page now nets out that gig's expenses, contractor payments, and mileage the same way the dashboard does, instead of showing a higher gross number.
- Fixed several keyboard-accessibility gaps -- the mobile navigation menu can now be closed with Escape and keeps focus trapped while open, and screen readers now correctly announce form fields and the contractor search dropdown.
- Navigating the sidebar now shows an instant loading skeleton instead of a blank screen, and gig detail pages load faster.
- Fixed several keyboard-accessibility gaps -- the mobile navigation menu can now be closed with Escape and keeps focus trapped while open, and screen readers now correctly announce form fields and the contractor search dropdown.
- Fixed a security issue where email confirmation and password reset links could be manipulated to redirect users to an external site.
- Gig income, hours worked, expense amounts, and income goal targets can no longer be saved as negative or (for expenses/goals) zero values.
July 17, 2026
- Fixed a bug where rapidly double-clicking "Set goal" could make your income goal disappear from the dashboard.
- Dashboard, gigs, expenses, contractors, and mileage pages now show an error screen instead of misleading empty/zero data when the backend is temporarily unreachable.
May 29, 2026
- Selecting a gig when logging an expense now automatically fills in the date to match the gig's date.
- The expenses table now scrolls horizontally on narrow screens so no data is clipped at 375px.
April 25, 2026
- You can now edit an existing expense — click Edit on any row in the Expenses table to update the amount, category, date, gig assignment, or notes.
April 24, 2026
- Password reset and email confirmation links now work correctly.
- Signup now uses a secure email-first flow — enter your email, check your inbox, then set your name and password after clicking the confirmation link.
- Mileage driven to a gig is now deducted from your net income using the IRS standard mileage rate, so your dashboard goal progress and hourly rate reflect your true take-home pay.
- Contractors now have structured first name, last name, email, and phone fields. Adding a contractor to a gig uses a searchable dropdown of your existing contractors instead of free-text entry.
April 23, 2026
- You can now tap "View" on any gig to see a read-only summary before choosing to edit it.
- Expense notes are now visible in the expenses table.
- Selecting a gig on the Add Expense form now correctly links the expense to that gig.

April 14, 2026
- The sidebar and mobile nav now highlight which page you're currently on.
- The gig create page now uses a single tag input that filters existing tags while typing and creates (or toggles) a tag on Enter — matching the edit page behavior.
- Progress bar and "% of goal" now show 0% instead of going negative when expenses exceed income for the period.
- Removed the "Target hours" field from income goals — the goal form and dashboard widget no longer show a target hourly rate based on hours.
- The income goal card now displays gross income, a breakdown of deductions (expenses and contractor payments as separate rows), and net income whenever any deductions have been logged.
- Musicians can now add expenses, contractors, mileage, and tags when logging a new gig — no need to go back into the edit view after creating it.
- The tags section on the gig edit page now shows a single input — typing filters your existing tags and pressing Enter adds a new one.
April 12, 2026
- Passwords now require 8+ characters with uppercase, lowercase, and a number — a live strength indicator guides you as you type.
- Navigation links are now accessible on mobile via a hamburger menu that opens a slide-in sidebar.
April 10, 2026
- Users can now switch between light and dark mode using the toggle in the sidebar. The app respects your system preference by default and remembers your choice.

April 7, 2026
- You can now log contractor payments (band members, merch staff, etc.) on each gig and see how much you've paid each contractor year-to-date on the new Contractors page.
